Winifred June Scarlett (nee Goddard)

June passed away in Ottawa at the age of 94. She leaves her son John, her daughter Julia and her grandson Joshua. She will be missed by her sister Margaret Norman who is living in England.

When June arrived in Canada from England, she opened a preschool. Women typically did not start their own businesses in the 60’s.

June's artistic side found a home in flower arranging. She won the “best in show" so often she was given the trophy and made a judge. June joined Iona Players and later the Lakeshore players where she acted and directed for 50 years. June loved painting places she visited.

She loved to sail and ride horses.

In memory of June, you may want to attend a play of your choice as June and Roy were actively involved in acting, producing and building sets at Iona Players and Lakeshore Players Theater. You may want to raise a glass in their memory.

After moving to Ottawa, June loved going to the pub with John and Colette. She always ordered fish and chips and a pint. The pint was not a hard sell!

There will be a private family gathering to scatter both June and Roy’s ashes.
