The family of William H. "Bill" Wright sadly announces his passing on September 26, 2026, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie surrounded by his family following a sudden stroke.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Grace (née DalBarco); his son, Glenn (Carol Newland); and his stepdaughters, Jan DiGiorgio (Tom Aikins) and Diana DiGiorgio (Alex Feaver). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Brandyn, Carleigh and Nichi (Aikins), and Caitlyn, Anthony and Mikail (Feaver), and by his seven great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his brothers Peter and Paul Wright, both of Barrie. He was predeceased by his parents, Sydney and Gladys Wright (née Kemp), and by nine brothers and sisters.

Though challenged for years by arthritis and COPD, Bill fought the good fight right up until the Blue Jays' 2026 playoff hopes came to an end.

The family has said their farewells, and as per Bill’s request, no public service is planned at this time. Condolences may be sent to the family via Basic Funerals-Jennett Memorial Centre Funeral Home.
