It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Snow, full name William Thomas Snow. He passed away at home early in the morning on the 6th of May 2026, at the age of 77. He will be dearly missed by his whole family, and all those who knew him. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Patsy Snow, his father William Sr, his sister Sally Gillespie, his sons John and Robert, as well as his three grandchildren Madeleine, Vivian, and Byron. He will also be missed by his beloved black lab, Captain. He is predeceased by his mother Janet.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman, with many diverse passions— sailing, canoeing, hunting, with his latest endeavour being fly fishing. He worked for 40 years as a union carpenter, working in construction. He spent many years volunteering his time as a Scout leader and was a member of the Barrie Freemasons.
He was loved and respected by many friends, family members, neighbours and other people in the community. Donations can be made in his name to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
He will be interred in the Barrie Union Cemetery. The family will have a private graveside service, but all those who wish to share stories and memories of Tom are welcome to come join the family at the celebration of life on June 13th from 2-8 pm at 251 Duckworth Street.
