Usha Dutta

At age 85, Usha Dutta passed away at home peacefully on November 18th in Mississauga, Ontario surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

Usha was born in Mumbai, India in 1940 and emigrated to Canada with her husband, Jagdish and daughter Anu in 1965. They settled in Montreal where they raised their two daughters before moving to Mississauga, Ontario, which they called home for their remaining years.

Usha is survived by her loving daughters Anu and Pamela (Kenny Weinstock), cherished grandchildren Neil Dutta Vaid (Chinami Otani) and Karina Dutta Vaid and recently welcomed her first great grandson, Navi. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Jagdish Chandra Dutta of 56 years.

Usha was a compassionate and giving person and touched the lives of everyone she met and was a lovingly, devoted wife, mother and Nani.

We are forever grateful and give special thanks to all the wonderful and dedicated personal support workers who provided such amazing and selfless care and comfort to Usha throughout her battle with ALS.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium on November 21, 2025. Visitation will start at 10:30 am followed by the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
