It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thérèse Labrecque, 71, who passed away peacefully at the Cornwall Hospice on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with her loving family by her side – on what would have been her and Michel’s 51st wedding anniversary.
Thérèse will be deeply missed by her devoted and loving husband, Michel Labrecque. She leaves behind her only beloved and cherished son, Claude Labrecque (D’Arcy Lynn Sullivan), and her grandson, Ethan Labrecque (Haevyn Brault). Ethan was the light of her life and meant more to her than words could ever express. She also leaves her step-grandson, Jonathan Sullivan-Struthers who she cared for and was very proud of.
Thérèse is survived by her sister and best friend, Denise Bourget (late Brian); her brother, Jean Louis St-Pierre (Gail); her brother-in-law, Jean Pierre “JP” Labrecque; her sister-in-law, Nicole Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Emile St-Pierre and Alice Carrière; her sister and dear friend, Claire Cyr (late Roger); her sister, Réjeanne Beauvais(late Norman); her brothers, Gérald “Sam” St-Pierre (late Norma) and Robert St-Pierre(Gabie); as well as her father- and mother-in-law, Gérald and Gertrude Labrecque.
Thérèse had a deep love for animals, especially her cats, who brought her great comfort and joy throughout her life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Cornwall Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Cornwall Hospice or the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. As per Thérèse’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
