C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de la belle Thérèse Poirier Massicotte entourée d’amour le lundi le 30 mars 2026 à l’âge de 92 ans. Née le 21 juillet 1933 à Bonaventure, Québec. Elle était la fille de feu de Théophile Poirier et de feu de Evelyne Leblanc. Elle laisse ses trois fils, Serge (Gabrielle), Joël (Nicole) et Vianney (Ginette) et ses deux petits-enfants très aimés, Julie (William) et Patrick (Christa) et son ancien époux Jean-Blaise Massicotte. Elle laisse également ses sœurs, Lucienne, Fernande et Claudette, ainsi que de nombreux nièces, neveux et ami/es. Elle fut précédée de Fernand, Gérard, Maurice, René, John (Jean-Marie), Rolland et Marie.

Une femme, mère et grand-maman exceptionelle, Thérèse était notre rayon de soleil. Son sourire était aussi chaleureux qu’une journée d'été, ces beaux yeux bleus comme le ciel et son amour inconditionnel. Elle avait toujours été bien pris soin, entourée de l'amour et du soutien de sa famille. Ses petits enfants, Julie et Patrick était toujours là pour elle et ils était le bonheur de sa vie.

Thérèse adorait lire, tricoter et faire des casse-têtes. Elle aimait beaucoup voyager avec ses amies. Elle était tellement bienveillante et accueillante qu'elle ne manquait jamais de chaleur à donner à ses petits-enfants. Une joueuse formidable aux cartes, notamment à Dames-de-Piques, et elle faisait toujours les meilleures tartes et gâteaux de fêtes. Dans sa présence, aux mots d’Édith Piaf, on voyait la vie en rose.

Sa fleur préférée était le lilas. Ce printemps, ils fleuriront en son honneur. Et chaque printemps à venir, tous les lilas en fleurs nous rappellerons comment elle était précieuse, belle et remarquable. Sa famille est profondément touchée par son amour. On ne l'oubliera jamais.

Thérèse sera toujours la meilleure grand-maman au monde.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the beloved Thérèse Poirier Massicotte, surrounded by love, on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 21st, 1933, in Bonaventure, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Theophile Poirier and the late Evelyne Leblanc. She leaves behind her three sons, Serge (Gabrielle), Joël (Nicole), and Vianney (Ginette), and her two cherished grandchildren, Julie (William) and Patrick (Christa) and her past husband Jean-Blaise Massicotte. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lucienne, Fernande and Claudette, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by Fernand, Gerard, Maurice, René, John (Jean-Marie), Rolland, and Marie.

An exceptional woman, mother, and grand-mother, Thérèse was our ray of sunshine. Her smile was as warm as a summer’s day, her eyes a beautiful blue like the sky, and her love was unconditional. She had always been well cared for, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Her grandchildren Julie and Patrick were always there for her and they were the love of her life.

Thérèse adored reading, knitting, and making puzzles. She loved travelling with her friends. She was so kind and welcoming that she never lacked warmth for her grandchildren. A formidable card player, especially at Dames-de-Piques, and she always made the best pies and cakes for birthdays and celebrations. In the words of Édith Piaf, in her presence we always saw “la vie en rose”.

Her favourite flower was lilacs. This spring, they will bloom in her honour and every spring to come, all the lilacs will remind us how treasured, beautiful and remarkable she was. Her family is deeply touched by her love. She will never be forgotten.

Thérèse will always be the best grandmother in the world.
