Thérèse Couillard-Sibiga

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Thérèse Couillard-Sibiga on April 5th, 2025, in Ottawa. A lifelong advocate, educator, and source of light for those around her, Thérèse left this world surrounded by love and in the comfort of peace.

Thérèse was a passionate teacher and a natural helper whose vibrant spirit touched countless lives. She was a fierce defender of people and the causes close to her heart, standing firm for justice, compassion, and integrity throughout her life. Her energy, wit, and strength made her a pillar in her community and a role model to many.

She is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Christiane Rankin, and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandson, Sara Rankin, John Rankin, and Ender Rankin-Wade. Her legacy lives on in the lives she enriched, the lessons she shared, and the values she lived by every day.

A private celebration of Thérèse’s life will be held by the family.
