Obituary

Susan Blowe of Barrie was Promoted to Glory on January 21, 2026 at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
She passed peacefully with her sisters Joan Poirier (Dannie) and Colleen Paterson (James) by her side.

Susan was predeceased by her parents William and Vera Blowe and two brothers Bill and Brian (Diana) Blowe. She leaves behind her two sisters and three brothers, Dennis (Patti), Kevin and Willy (Francine) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family was important to Susan, she would phone or FaceTime to see how everyone was doing. We are all going to miss those calls as she would FaceTime us and sing Happy Birthday on our birthday.

Susan will greatly be missed by the staff at the Dunlop Diner. They never had to ask her, her order they knew it off by heart. She enjoyed living at Collier Place as over the years she made many friends with the staff, residents and many others.

The Family would also like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at the RVH, TGH and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for their excellent care.

Susan had a great love for the Salvation Army and the Fellowship she found there. She signed the Declaration on December 20, 1970 and became a Soldier of the Salvation Army and wore her uniform with pride and honour. Susan attended church faithfully every Sunday whether it was in person or by Live Feed on Facebook. Wednesdays she attended Piece Makers, where she took attendance, photos or just chit chatted with the ladies. Retreats were another of Susan’s favourite things to go to and enjoy the fellowship with the other ladies while there.

She was also a big fan of WWE Wrestling and also enjoyed a good smack down.

Susan was also an avid Blue Jays fan, watching every game faithfully and her favourite saying was “ they need to pull their socks up” when she felt they weren’t playing well.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 1 to 3 pm at the Barrie Salvation Army Citadel, 151 Lillian Crescent, Barrie.

In memory of Susan please feel free to wear your favourite Blue Jays apparel or something blue.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations to the Barrie Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
