STEVEN THOMAS NEKECHUK
June 22, 1952 - December 17, 2019
Steven Thomas Nekechuk passed away in hospital surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in Toronto a the age of 67 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
Steven is survived by his loving wife, Ying and his step-daughter, Yi. He is also survived by his sisters Betty (Al) Joanisse, Linda (Bob) Barber and Judy Bochenek, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and many wonderful friends.
Steven is the son of the late John and Marjorie Nekechuk (nee Haywood) of Sutton, Ontario. He was pre-deceased by his brothers John Peter, Michael Charles and Robert Terrence.
Steve loved to spend time with Ying and to help Yi with her studies at York University.
A service is scheduled for Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Mausoleum & Cremation Centre, 4570 Yonge Street in Toronto. In addition, there will be a graveside service in Sutton, Ontario in the spring of next year.
