Steve (Efstratios) Bougadis

With Great sadness our loving father Steve (Strati) Bougadis recently passed away while in Sparta, Greece.

He came from humble beginnings being born in the mountains of Sparta and eventually moved to Canada after WWII to have a better life. He was an extremely hard worker & proud man who was always there for his family first. He was a loyal and devoted husband, father, father-in-law & loving grandfather. A great example for all of us. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a religious & faithful man. Fortunate to be blessed with great neighbors. He was also very sociable and looked forward to all functions. Always happy being in Sparta. He went for coffee in the town center where he met his friends. He shopped at the farmers market twice a week, sat on the balcony looking at a view of picturesque surroundings & mountains, and thought about his childhood. Every time we spoke with him, he said he was not so good and would say his famous line “I keep going”. He had several health issues over the last seven years, but always fought hard to live his life on his terms. His health issues and the sadness of recently losing his loving wife a few months ago, finally took its toll on him. He passed away the week of what would have been their 62nd Wedding Anniversary date. Dad, until we meet again in heaven, we will miss time spent with your smile and your wonderful sense of humor!
