Stephen Joseph Young

Stephen passed away peacefully at the age of 67 at Credit Valley Hospital after a long battle with both COPD and Lung Cancer.

Steve was predeceased by his mother Joyce, father Basil and sister Theresa. He will be dearly missed by his family, brother Bernard, Stachia, nephew Michael and Kerry, and great niece Elle; brother Michael and wife Barb, nephew Shannon, and sister Martha and husband Paul, nieces Jennifer and Angela, and close friend Sophie. Steve was known for his terrific sense of humor and he always had a devilish smile which was loved by the family and everyone who knew him.

Steve had a long career in the trucking industry working for a few companies as well as being an owner operator and later a manager. He worked very conscientiously up until his illness would not allow furtherance.

Steve had a great many friends whom he enjoyed spending time with, having fun conversations with him at the coffee shop and local pub.  They too enjoyed his great humor.

It was Steven’s wish to go quietly without a memorial. Steve’s family will have a private celebration of life.

On behalf of Stephen and his entire family we would like to sincerely thank the Mc Call centre where Steve resided for 5 years for their never-ending kindness and care which improved his quality of life.  As well, we would like to thank the Doctors and many staffs at both Trillium Hospital and Credit Valley Hospital for their work and kindness to support Steve in extending his life. In the final days their care and support allowed Stephen to pass away peacefully, without pain, and with dignity and respect.
