Stella Alevizos

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stella (Loula) Alevizos (Karanagnostis) on September 16th, 2024 surrounded by her family at the age of 98. She will forever be loved and missed by her husband John, daughter Voula (George), granddaughters Sophia, Joanna (John) and her great grandson Panagiotis. Predeceased by parents Gregory and Hariklia, brothers Anastasios, Nikonas, and Panagiotis, and grandson-in-law, Chris. 

Loula was born in 1926 in Sparti, Lakonia before coming to Canada in 1963. She married her husband John and shared 61 beautiful years together. Her pride and joy came from raising her daughter and her granddaughters and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her most cherished memories include dancing around the kitchen while teaching her girls to cook and sharing stories over the phone or over a coffee with her friends. 

Loula will forever be remembered by all for her generous heart and the enthusiastic humour she brought to every room. Her selfless nature and compassionate spirit has touched so many people and continues to radiate through those she loves. She will always be remembered as everyone’s Yiayia. 

The family would like to thank the staff and team at Castleview Wychwood Towers Long Term Care Home for taking care of Stella the last two and a half years. 

Visitation and Funeral will take place at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church 

Viewing: Sunday September 22 from 5:00pm-8:00pm 

Funeral Service: Monday September 23 at 10:00am followed by a burial service located at Meadowvale Cemetery.
