Soo Lee Yu Chew

Soo Lee Yu Chew, a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished sister, passed away peacefully in her sleep, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born in Pasir Mas, Malaysia, Soo carried with her the values of deep family connection, compassion, resilience throughout her life and the Chew family's love of eating fruit. Though far from her birthplace in later years, she remained closely connected to her siblings, Pang So-Fin, Chew Soo Kam, Chew Chee Teng, Chew So Tuan, Chia Saw Kiang, Chew Saw Yean, Chew Chee Leong, and Ma Joo Kiang, speaking with them weekly and keeping family ties strong across continents.

Soo found her greatest joy in her role as a grandmother. She lovingly devoted her time to Lincoln and Dakota, nurturing them with care, patience, and joy. Her love was steady and generous, and her presence was a source of deep comfort and warmth.

She was the proud and loving mother of Amanda Collier (and husband Chris) and Colin Chan. As a mother, she was nurturing, strong, and endlessly kind — always offering her quiet support, a listening ear, and a helping hand. Her family was the center of her world, and she gave of herself fully and selflessly.

Soo's memory will be deeply cherished by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strength, gentleness, and unwavering love leave an enduring legacy that will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
