Shu Ren Fu 傅树人

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shu Ren Fu, who left us on September 9, 2024 at the age of 91, shortly after celebrating his birthday. Shu Ren was a highly respected Research Science Professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Guangzhou, P. R. China. His research was prominently featured in the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry: An International Forum for Thermal Studies, where he published four influential papers:

1. “Solid-state crystallization and thermal relaxation in Nylon 1010”;

2. "Studies of Structural Reorganization in Nylon 1010 During Heating Scanning";

3. "Thermal Properties and Morphology of Crystal Formed Isothermally at Melting Peak Temperature in Nylon 1010"; and

4. "Thermal Behaviour of the Anticancer Drug Carboxyethylgermanium Sesquioxide"

These works have earned Shu Ren global recognition for his contributions to the study of thermal analysis.

Shu Ren graduated from the Chengdu University of Science and Technology in 1958, marking the beginning of a long and distinguished career in research.

Above all, Shu Ren was a devoted family man. He was a loving father to Colette Zhaohui Fu, a beloved father-in-law to Wenjie Zheng, and a proud grandfather to Michelle Zheng and Winston Zheng. He is also survived by his beloved wife, Gui Yan Li. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A private family service will be held in his memory.
