Shirley Barbara Sereney

Shirley Barbara Sereney (formerly Moulton), age 92, passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario, on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Shirley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished matriarch of her family. She will be deeply missed by her son, Kevin Moulton; daughter, Allison Moulton; and granddaughter, Tia Moulton.

She was predeceased by her mother, Gladys Sereney; father, Raymond Sereney; aunt, Beatrice Sereney; and cousin, Lorna Gill.

Shirley attended Queen’s University and began her career with the Senate of Canada before becoming a respected court reporter in the private sector. A passionate Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, she was known for her strength, sharp mind, and unwavering dedication to her family. She found joy in the simple comforts of life, especially knitting and reading, pastimes that brought her peace and reflected her quiet creativity.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the NYGH Senior Health Centre for their compassionate care and support.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or to North York General Hospital.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
