Shirley Isabel Hewgill

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Shirley Isabel Hewgill (nee Macleod), on April 24th 2024 at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by her husband Robert Hewgill of 67 years. Loving mother of Mark (Colleen) of Belleville, and Paul (Maria) of Beeton. 

Survived by her sister Joan and predeceased by sister Jean.

Shirley provided a great home. She brought our families together, hosting holidays, cottage get togethers and trips to Disneyland and the Caribbean. Summers were filled with reading and raising her two reprobate sons at the cottage with the transportation that our dad provided, an old unreliable boat. It was heaven. Shirley was passionate about dogs, raising Standard poodles, being a groomer and a member of the Poodle Advancement Association. She had been a past member of the Kinettes, the K40, and Club 35. 

Shirley was loved by all, and the memories of her will always be remembered and cherished.

A celebration of life will be held in the late summer of 2024 at the cottage on Lake Muskoka.
