Shirley gave back to the community and was both a Girl Guide and Brownie leader. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid participant in leagues for many years. She will also be remembered for her many turkey and roast beef family dinners, and especially for her delicious shortbread cookies.
Shirley had a long career as an administrative assistant at Ottawa City Hall and then with the Federal Government, predominantly with Energy Mines and Resources.
There will be no formal funeral service, but there will be a Celebration of Life, close to her 100th birthday on September 26. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Forest Hill for their compassion, care and commitment to Shirley and her family over the last ten years
