Sekula Elez

Sekula Elez has held many titles in his life. From musician, to handyman, to small business owner, his most cherished titles had to have been caring husband, a loving father. A pillar strength in our community, Seki was the type of person who rarely faltered from bringing others together and making them feel welcomed. Whether it was gathering the community together for a celebration or just gathering his beloved wife Amra and his two sons, Saša and Daniel to watch something together in the living room, you'd be hard pressed to look over at him and not see him smiling.

On April 30th, It was a shock to all of us to find out he had passed away. But we will Honor his memory and celebrate the life of a man whose wisdom, humor and above all who's generosity has left an impression on everyone he has crossed paths with. Preceded in death by his father Krsto, and is survived by his mother Milica, his wife Amra, his sons Saša, Daniel, his brother Nebojša and his wife Jasna and their kids Srđan i Bojan and their families, his in-laws Aida, Andrijana, Dijana and their families and his local cousins Vitomir and his family and Danica Elez whom he spent many summers with while growing up. 

For those who would like to celebrate the wonderful life that had gathered us together many times before, a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 10th at Basic Funerals found on 152 Bradford Street in Barrie from 2-4 pm. We'll be sharing laughs and tears and stories from our unforgettable Seki.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to getting a memorial bench in his honor so they future generations to come will be able to feel the support we all have gotten the privilege to experience. A donation box will be available at the Celebration of Life for those who wish to donate.
