IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Rosemarie
Tonn
December 11, 1962 – February 19, 2026
Sandra Rosemarie Tonn age 63 passed away peacefully with family and a dear friend by her side at Sunnybrooke Hospital on Thursday February 19, 2026. After a short battle with Esophageal cancer she is reunited with her parents Henrich and Rosemarie Tonn as well as her beloved cats. Survived by her siblings Ronnie (Dianne), LeeAnn (Brad), Sonya and nieces and nephews Shawn, Jessica, Ryan, Turner. Sandra will be missed dearly by many friends who have become family to her over the years. Leanne, Dan, Maria, Celeaste, Coral, Kay, Pearl, and many more.
Sandra was born and raised in Niagara Falls, and moved to the great city of Toronto in her early 20s where she began her career as a Bank teller at BMO, and worked her way up the corporate ladder. She then changed her career working as a legal aid, then ending with the City of Toronto in the engineering department.
Sandra truly loved the simple things in life like sitting on her porch reading a book, and listening to the beautiful sounds of nature, watching the flowers bloom in her garden, or a crisp patio drink on a hot summer day. But nothing compared to her love for animals, especially her pet cats who could be found hiding under chairs, on top of cupboards, or chasing ping pong balls down the hallways.
Sandra was known for her kind and humble ways of making everyone feel loved and appreciated. She was always willing to lend a hand, or give some knowledgeable advice on almost everything and anything. She embraced everyone's uniqueness, and loved unconditionally. Her words of wisdom, and comfort will greatly be missed.
Her wishes were not to dwell on her passing, but to celebrate her life and take a piece of wisdom and positivity from her to carry forward and put back into this world.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
Donations in Sandra's memory can be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Sandra's family would like to thank the staff and doctors in the palliative care unit at Sunnybrook Hospital, as well as to any extended friends, coworker, or neighbors who helped Sandra during her treatment and recovery.
