Sandra Baird Forbes

Sandra Baird Forbes, a beloved whirlwind of joy and laughter, left this world surrounded by so much love on July 26th, 2025, at the age of 66 after the bravest fight against cancer. Born on April 24,1959, in Wimbledon, England, Sandra’s infectious humor and boundless kindness quickly became her passport to the hearts of everyone she met.

Sandra, known for her magnetic personality and her ability to find a sliver of humor in the dullest moments made Ottawa, ON her home. Her parents, the late Yvon & Denise Biard, her late stepmother Elizabeth Biard, her late in laws Ray and Joyce Forbes all of whom helped shape her into the incredible woman she became.

She shared her life with her loving husband Michael Forbes of 46 years, children Jeff (Ashley Villeneuve), Allison (Luke Biernaskie), Jennifer (Jordan McCurdy) and Alex (Kristen Forbes), who will miss her terribly.

Sandra‘s brother John Biard (Anne McNeil) and sister Susan Schuurmans (Oscar Schuurmans) were not just her siblings but closest friends, confidantes, and protectors. Sandra shared a special bond with all her cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends from near and far that she cherished deeply.

Her grandchildren, her everything's: Jackson, Preston, Brayden, Piper, Myles, Oliver, Willow, and Emily who will grow up with the legendary tales of their grandmother‘s shenanigans, her Christmas cookies and her special cakes that were the centerpiece of every family gathering.

For 35 years Sandra's career with the CNIB, saw her taking on the role of intervenor among other titles. Her work was not just a job, it was what she loved and made life long friends that became family, especially her beautiful angels.

She left the world a little less bright without her sparkle, but the memories she baked, cooked, knitted, danced and sang into our lives will forever be cherished.

We will look for you in all the fun moments in life because we know that is where you will be.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date
