Sami Nassar

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Sami Nassar on August 3, 2024, at the age of 64 years. Son of the late Samih Nassar and Maryanna Nassar (née Gilleece). Beloved husband of Popy. He will be dearly missed by his children: Samih (Hilary) and Simon (Rebecca). 

A passionate and enthusiastic drummer, Sami loved jazz and funk. He drummed for several bands, first turning heads as a long haired checkered-pant, platform shoe-wearing teen in the 70s. Sami owned a record store in downtown Toronto and worked in the music industry for decades. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends more than anything else. Eating pizza with loved ones while cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs was his ideal night. A celebration of Sami's life will be held on Sunday, August 11th. Details to follow.
