Ruth Joan Alexander Lamarche (1949, Ottawa – 2024, Gatineau) – Ruth was a beautiful, fun-loving, funny, and fierce soul. She was generous, loving, and completely genuine. She was courageous, tenacious, and persevering in the face of hardship. Family meant everything to Ruth, and she adored her children. She often envisioned and strived to give generous gifts to every person on earth.
In youth, Ruth was a federal civil servant and with her husband an entrepreneur with a successful moving business. She had creative interests that included cooking, baking, fashion, flowers, and music – most recently guitar and piano.
Ruth was a devoted mother to Carol Lamarche and Jason Lamarche. She was the wife of the late Claude Lamarche, daughter of the late Flora Alexander (née Haughton) and late George Alexander, sister to the late Linda Scholes (late Pat Scholes) and Jimmie Alexander (Greer Alexander), and cousin to Rich Watson (Louise Watson). She leaves many family members and friends.
In celebration of Ruth’s life and her love of beauty, please give a gift of a flowering plant to a loved one or plant a tree where it may be enjoyed.
Burial will take place on July 3, at 1:30 pm, at Pink Cemetery in Gatineau, at 1521 Chemin Vanier, Aylmer, J9J 3R3. A graveside service will be held – family and friends welcome.
