Rosy Dwarika passed away peacefully at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Trinidad, Rosy spent most of her life in her cherished homeland. In 1985, she moved to Canada, where she lived for ten years before returning to Trinidad—the place her heart truly belonged. In late 2023, she returned to Canada to be wrapped in the love and care of her family as her health declined.
A deeply devoted mother, Rosy’s entire life revolved around her family. She was a woman of unwavering faith who practiced her Hindu traditions with quiet dedication each day. Those who knew Rosy will forever remember her wonderful sense of humor, her quick laughter, and her boundless generosity—she was always ready to offer a helping hand, a warm heart, and whatever she had to anyone in need.
Rosy was the beloved mother of nine children: Shere, Daye, Shirley, Baldeo, Kenny, Vashti, Reynold, Omatee, and her late son Sham (d. 1979), with whom she is now reunited. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all whose lives she touched.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Grove Park Home for their exceptional care and compassionate support of Rosy and her family throughout this journey.
A private Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Basic Funerals Jennett Memorial Centre in Barrie, Ontario.
