OAKES, Ronald Elwood – Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 in his 85th  year. Beloved husband of the late Verna Oakes. Loving father of Jim (Joy) of Wasaga Beach, Dan (Joeann), Tom, Tim, Peggy, and Cathy (Jim) all of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of Darryl, D’Arcy, Sean, Krista, Heather, Christopher, Dylan, Nicole, Joseph, Scott, Cassandra, Nicolas, Brittni, and 9 great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of Shirley Akins, Elaine Wicklum, and pre-deceased by sister Fern  McFadden. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Friday, April 27th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00a.m. until the time of service.
