MARTINI, Ronald John Lloyd (Ronnie or Ron) 81, died peacefully in his sleep on September 20, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He was born in Montreal, but grew up in Tampa, FL where he went to Jesuit High School and made many lifelong friends. Later in life, he moved to Ottawa where he studied and worked.
Ronnie's family meant everything to him. He was the eldest son of the late Lilia Damiani and the late Taverno (Terry) Martini. Ronnie's immediate family in- cluded: his brother, John Martini and his sister, Janie Martini Bowers (the late Michael Bowers) as well as children: Caitilin Martini Kamaris (Christian Kamaris), Leila Martini, David Martini (Veronique Hamel), Laura Martini (Ryan St Jean) and Sarah Martini as well as grandchildren: Alec and Drew Kamaris, Isabela and Sofia Martini, and Marcus St Jean.
Ronnie was close to his cousins and was always there for his nieces and nephews.
He grew up surrounded by loving grandparents in both Montreal and Hamilton, as well as many aunts and uncles who doted on him.
Over the course of his life, he shared love and companionship in three marriages: first to his high school sweetheart, with whom he had two children; later, during his years back in Canada, to a warm and fun-loving partner; and finally, to a kind & generous woman, with whom he shared many years and three more children.
Ronnie was a scholar, a reader, a writer, a thinker, and a dreamer. He loved good food and good conversation around the dinner table. He also enjoyed fine craftsmanship. Reading and studying were his passion- his book collection reflected that.
He was generous, warm, sensitive and instantly befriended those who crossed his path. The world is a little less bright without him in it.
Donations can be made in his name to Bruyere Palliative Care.
