In Loving Memory of Ronald Ernest Lake
Ronald Ernest Lake, age 71, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the Hawkesbury General Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born on May 14, 1955, Ronald is now reunited with his beloved parents, the late May Jolly and Clarence Lake. Ronald—affectionately known as "Ronnie" to his siblings—was a man who found his greatest joy in the quiet beauty of nature and the warmth of his family.
Ronald was a dedicated partner to Claire Migneault, with whom he shared life’s many journeys. He was a proud and loving father to his three children, Sara, EJ, and Stephen, leaving them with a lifetime of beautiful memories and lasting life lessons. He is survived and deeply missed by his sister, Claire, and his brother, Donald, as well as his extended family and friends.
An avid outdoorsman, Ronald was happiest when he was camping under the stars, swimming in a clear lake, or simply soaking in the peace of the wilderness. His deep love for animals was a defining part of who he was; he shared a special bond with every creature he met—especially the beloved family cats and dogs he cared for over the years—and always championed their care and well-being.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Prescott and Russell Long-Term Care Residence for their dedicated care during his time there, as well as the medical team at the Hawkesbury General Hospital for their kindness and support in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Ontario SPCA, honoring his lifelong love for animals.
