Dr. Ronald J. Burns

September 7, 1946 — August 17, 2024

Mississauga

Dr. Ronald J. Burns passed away peacefully in his Mississauga home on August 17th at the age of 77.

Ronald was born on September 7th, 1946 to Earl Joseph Burns and Leona May McKenzie in North Bay, Ontario. He grew up in Toronto until 1964, when he joined and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Quebec.

Upon returning to Toronto, he met his best friend, Jimmy. They lived as epic bachelors until Ronald met and fell in love with his wife Diane. They shared three beautiful children: Beverly, Tamara and Christa, and five beautiful grandchildren: Jessica, Mark, Luke, Liam and Isla. He loved being a Papa and would often say he was never too old to learn from his grandkids.

Ronald studied at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating in 1973 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He was dedicated in serving his community as a Chiropractor and would call his patients his “other family”.

Those that had the pleasure of meeting him knew what an unforgettable character he was. He lived life on his own terms using the philosophy “work hard, play hard”. He loved to have fun and entertain people with his mischievous charm and stories.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents Earl and Leona, his brother Earl, his sister Earlon, and his granddaughter Jessica. He is survived by his wife Diane, his brothers Wayne and Lyle, his sister Iris, his daughters Beverly, Tamara and Christa, and his grandchildren Mark, Luke, Liam and Isla.

He was greatly loved and he will be gravely missed. Rest in peace Boss (aka sucky baby).

In keeping with his wishes, Ronald will be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 582, 456 Hensall Circle in Mississauga, Ontario from 1-3pm on Saturday, September 7th, 2024. This would’ve been Ron’s 78th birthday, so please join us in sharing memories and pictures of him, and raising a glass of Drambuie to toast to his memory.
