It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Edward Buckley, 78, of Orléans, Ontario, who passed away peacefully on May 5th, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Roland was the son of Vincent and Regina Buckley.
Roland worked as an Electrical Project Manager, primarily in Alberta and Ontario. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his strong work ethic, love of music and playing guitar, kindness, understanding, and eagerness to help others.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Francine; his sons, Daniel and Kris; his granddaughter, Whitney; his sister, Dorenda Jardine; his brothers, Brian, Greg, and Charles; his cousin, Lawrence Buckley; his aunt Mary Buckley; and his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Regina Buckley.
The family would like to thank their friend, Paul Maybe; the first responders; the staff at Montfort Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute for their kindness and care during Roland’s final days; his friends who were at his bedside in the hospital; and the many people who sent flowers and food to the family home.
A Celebration of Life for Roland will be held on Saturday, May 30th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 500 Brisebois Crescent, Orléans, Ontario.
