Robert Edward Schultz, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on November 12, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, friendship, and an indomitable passion for life. Born on January 15, 1948, in Chester, Pennsylvania, and raised in Newtown Square.

Bob's academic journey culminated in 1974 when he graduated from Temple University. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on a career as an Audiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Canada. His professional journey continued as he founded a private Audiology practice, collaborating closely with Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists, fellow audiologists, and teachers for the deaf across the Ottawa region, including in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Bob was immensely proud of his role in the community, contributing significantly to the well-being of many.

In addition to his clinical work, Bob co-established the Ottawa Carleton Hearing Aid Dispensary with his partner, Debbie Martel. Thanks to their commitment to excellence, the dispensary was honored with a Consumer Choice Award for Business Excellence for three consecutive years.

A man of many talents and interests, Bob had a lifelong appreciation for music, particularly jazz, played the clarinet and saxophone. He also had a fervor for sports that spanned decades; he enjoyed tennis and recreational basketball, even coaching his son Julien's basketball team, The Bobcats, in Ottawa during his late forties. Bob found great joy in fly-fishing, traveling extensively with his beloved brother, Bill, and close friend, Mel Segal. Although Bob practiced catch-and-release while fishing, he always returned with captivating tales of adventure that brought laughter and joy to those around him.

Bob was deeply engaged with the world around him, maintaining an avid interest in both domestic and foreign politics. His extensive reading habits allowed him to contribute to conversations on a plethora of topics, from finance to sports, always with a touch of humor. He was a proud Canadian citizen since the 1990s and cherished his dual citizenship.

After successfully retiring at the age of 60, Bob embraced a vibrant life filled with exploration and passion. He traveled extensively and continued pursuing his favorite activities, including fly-fishing, golfing, tennis, and swimming. For the past 13 winters, he and his wife, Micheline, called southwest Florida home, where they created countless memories with friends and family, often hosting visitors and sharing their joy of community.

Bob reflected often on the wonderful life he lived, stating that becoming a father at the age of 37 was transformational and deepened his understanding of unconditional love. With Micheline, his devoted wife of forty-two years, he traveled the world with their children, Julien and Marielle, fostering a bond through shared experiences and adventures.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Micheline J. Poirier; his beloved children, Julien P. Schultz and Marielle P. Schultz (Liam McGovern); his brother, William (Bill) Schultz, and sister-in-law, Patricia Schultz; nephew, Derek Schultz (Sherri Schultz), and great-nephew, Jake Schultz; his sister, Margaret (Meg) Schultz, and brother-in-law, Frank Musella; as well as nieces and nephews, Madeline Pisani (Mike Pisani), Emily Iovine (Brian Iovine), and Alex Musella (Shaquala Jones). Bob is also survived by family on his wife’s side, including his sisters-in-law, Diane P. Shapiro (Marc Shapiro) and Sylvie P. Beurret (Michel Beurret), along with their children, Philippe Shapiro, Carolyne Shapiro, Camille Beurret, and Florent Beurret.

He was predeceased by his parents, William H. Schultz and Betty Davis Schultz, and his in-laws, Henri-Claude Poirier and Doreen Normand Poirier.

There will be no funeral service; rather, Bob's life will be celebrated in the spring. His vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering zest for life will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who had the fortune to know him.
