Robert Harold Davyduck passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on May 23, 2025 at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Bob, son of the late George and Verneta (Shaw) Davyduck, was born on March 22, 1948 in Windsor, Ontario.

Loving husband of 22 years to Johanna Drost. Proud father to Robert (Jun Matsushita) Davyduck, whom he shared with his former wife, Lenora Davyduck. Caring stepfather to Anik van Draanen (Kenny Dhanraj) and Elise van Draanen (Nick Miller). Cherished Grandpa/Opa/Grandpa Bob to Liam (Helia), Owen, Ellie, Alayna, and Harrison Davyduck, and Remy and Hendricks Dhanraj.Dear brother to Larry (late Georgina), Lisa (Dale) Rabideau, the late Linda Thomaess and Jill (Wayne-surviving) Ouellette.

Bob was very proud of his career in the military which took him across Canada and to Germany. His post-military career offered him the opportunity to travel extensively across the globe. Bob always returned home eager to share stories of his adventures.

Bob was a passionate hockey fan and season ticket holder of the Ottawa Senators since their return in the early 90s. His love for the Senators sparked a spirited rivalry with the Toronto Maple Leaf fans in the family.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate Bob’s life and share memories at Glasstown Brewing Company, 331 James Street, Wallaceburg, Ontario on Saturday, July 19, 12-3 pm.

Visitation will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario on Monday, July 21 from 9-10:45 am, followed by inurnment at The National Military Cemetery at 11 am.

The family would like to thank the health care professionals at the Ottawa Hospital for their many years of care, as well as the staff at St. Michael’s and Sunnybrook Hospitals in Toronto in recent years. Bob was fortunate to have received a kidney transplant which allowed him to enjoy life to the fullest. In his memory, the family asks others to consider registering as organ donors (beadonor.ca)
