Richard Leroux

It is with deep sorrow that we would like to share that our dear brother, Richard Leroux, passed away on November 6th, 2025, at the age of 64. He was a Loving brother to Jocelyne Giroux (Ernie Giroux), Cherished brother to Normand Leroux (Joanne Leroux). Richard had two daughters, Melanie Leroux, Emilie Janes (Leroux) (husband of Cody Janes), and a grand-daughter, Maven Janes. Richard was predeceased by his father, Maurice Leroux, his mother, Jeannine Leroux (Sarault), his brother Jacques Leroux and sisters Lyne Paquette and Danie Leroux. Richard also had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Anyone who met Rick knew he had a very sunny disposition and his positive energy was infectious. Nothing made him happier than to participate in family or friends’ gatherings. Everyone he ever met was his friend.

Nothing made him happier than sitting by a campfire, listening to music and “story telling” and most of all lending a helping hand to others. It didn’t matter who you were, he would gladly help.

Rick was a mentor to many young co-workers teaching them his trade, at which he was very skilled and very passionate. Rick, who had never had a son, took these young apprentices, under his wing and often thought of them as his own.

Rick’s main passion was sports. He enjoyed mostly watersports, fishing, boating, sea-dooing and in his younger days, he enjoyed ski-dooing and was a hunter. His main passion was hockey (Montreal Canadiens) but he really loved whipping a baseball at his brother-in-law Ernie who also returned the favor. Rick also loved being around his younger brother, Norm, "his Irish Twin" but they were "polar opposite".

He will never be forgotten because he was one of a kind!

The Celebration of Life will be taking place on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It will be at the OLV Banquet Hall, 5338 Bank Street, Ottawa, Ontario
