Richard Joanisse

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Joanisse of Ottawa-Vanier at the age of 79. Richard passed away peacefully, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer, on October 15th at La Maison de L'est Hospice.

Born to Henri Joanisse and Flore (bazinet) Richard was number 9 of 12 children. Predeceased by 6 of his siblings and one niece he is survived by his partner of 25 years Nancy Ciardullo and her 4 children, 5 siblings Martha, Michel, Marie, Madeleine and Adele and 24 Nieces and Nephews who loved their "crazy" mononcle Richard.

Never one to say no to a good time Richard loved a good party. Dancing, drinking , laughing and having a good time with friends and family is what he lived for. He was always ready to hear or tell a new joke. Even sometimes telling the same joke again and again as though nobody had heard it before.

 Richard's career in real estate spanned 40 years and his love for the job showed. Many of his clients not only used Richard as a trusted real estate advisor over the years but they also became his friends. His colleagues always knew when Richard was in the office, he had a new joke he wanted to tell the world.

He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and those who knew him best will surely have a tale of " do you remember when Richard...."
