Richard Thomas Ingram

March 19, 1952 — April 26, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Ingram announces his passing on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the age of 69 years.  Richard will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 43 years Catherine (Cathy) and his children John (Jennifer) and Jason.  Predeceased by his youngest son James, his parents John and Adella (nee Southworth) and his youngest sister Wendy.  Survived by his sisters Lorene, Karen, Dianne and Mary-Lynn along with his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Richard will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Liam and Lily, who always enjoyed spending time with their proud grandfather.

Born and raised in Toronto, Richard grew up in the Downsview area of the city.  After starting his career with Metro (formerly Dominion) he moved to North Toronto where Richard and Catherine raised their three boys.  Richard’s career spanned over 45 years with Metro at several locations where he met and made a number of long-lasting friendships.

Richard was well known for his quick wit (also known as “Ingram humour”) and strong commitment to his family.  No matter how busy, he was always there to support and stay involved with his children’s sporting activities including coaching numerous hockey and baseball teams.  While always good for a laugh, Richard was also there to offer his opinion on matters, share his own life lessons and provide guidance to those around him.

It is with great sadness that we say farewell to an amazing and kind man – we are all wishing you peaceful travels as you reunite with your parents, your sister, James and many others who have left us over the years.

Due to current pandemic restrictions, a Celebration of Life for friends and family may occur in the coming months.  Donations in Richards’ memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association in an effort to find relief for others who suffer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD.
