Obituary

Richard (“Rick”) Donald Chapman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard (“Rick”) Donald Chapman—a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, respected businessman, and a man who could always be counted on.

Rick shared a lifelong partnership with his beloved wife, Lois, built on love, adventure, and mutual respect. Together, they embraced the joy of travel—exploring many countries, attending rallies with the Lotus Car Club, and making special memories visiting family along the way. Whether it was a scenic drive or a faraway destination, Rick and Lois experienced the world side by side, creating a lifetime of stories that will be cherished by all who knew them.

At home, Rick was happiest surrounded by family. He leaves behind his loving wife Lois; his sons Darin (Leslie) and Derek (Cathie); and his grandsons Cody (Emily & great-grandson, Bryer), Brayden (fiancée Brittney), and Joshua. His pride in his family was unmistakable, and the growing generations brought him immense joy. Whether sharing advice, lending a hand, or simply spending time together, those were the moments that mattered most to him.

Rick was the kind of man who showed up—quietly, reliably, and without question. If someone needed help, he was there. He never sought recognition, but his generosity, knowledge, and steady presence left a lasting impression on countless people.

That same determination and drive shaped his professional life. Rick founded Piping Accessories with his business partner John Dinoff from the basement of his home, built on hard work, integrity, and a deep understanding of his craft. Over time, he earned a reputation throughout the mechanical piping industry as a trusted advisor—someone people turned to when they needed answers, guidance, or solutions. His expertise and willingness to help others became his hallmark, and his influence in the industry continues to be felt.

Outside of work, Rick loved to stay active. He found satisfaction in the simple things—puttering around, tackling projects, and keeping busy. But what made those moments special was sharing them with family and close friends. For Rick, it was never just about the task at hand, but about the people alongside him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Donelda (Mike), his brothers-in-law Larry (Marlene) and Tom (Wendy), and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched.

Rick’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for those around him. He leaves behind not only memories, but a lasting example of what it means to be dependable, humble, and kind.

Though he may no longer be with us, the values he lived by and the legacy he built—in his family, his work, and his relationships—will continue to guide and inspire.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
