Raymond Joseph Goyette

Raymond Joseph Goyette, born August 12, 1942 passed away peacefully February 17, 2025 surrounded by family at the age of 82. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, optimism and a lifelong dedication to helping others.

Raymond, affectionately known as Ray, married the love of his life, Violet in 1975. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, as they built a life filled with warmth and generosity that lasted until her passing in January 2024.

Ray’s life was defined by his cheerful disposition and readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He taught his family the value of hard work, the importance of thinking of others and the philosophy that almost anything could be re-used. His teachings and values remain an enduring gift to all those who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hillsdon (Mark), step- sons, Mark Walton and Jeffrey Walton (Helen), brother, Clement Goyette, sister, Shirley Lambert (Gary), and his beloved dog Molly. His grandchildren, Alyssa Hillsdon, Kyra Williams (Phil), Jesse Lacroix (Erin), Amy White (Justin), Melissa Page (Mike) and Angela Pariseau (Kory) and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Violet Goyette, his step-daughter, Lori Walton and siblings, Georgette Derby, Esmerelda Levesque, Isabelle Leger, Jaqueline Riopelle, Claudette Tapp, and Henri Goyette.

Vi and Ray’s lives will be celebrated June 7, 2025 at their home, 33 Rongail St. in Merivale Gardens from 2pm-4pm. Their friends and family are invited to stop by and share memories of both Vi and Ray. As we reflect on their lives, we remember the laughter, the joy they shared, the love they gave and the time they spared. Their memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew them.
