Piotr "Peter" Konitzer

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Piotr "Peter" Konitzer on July 13, 2026, at Dorothy Ley Hospice, at the age of 73, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Peter was the beloved husband of Kasia (Bożena) Konitzer, and the loving father of Caroline Cora Franciosa (Konitzer), Katie Coral Konitzer, and Alexander Feliks Konitzer. He was predeceased by his parents, Zofia and Feliks Konitzer.

Born in Poland, Peter earned his electrical license before immigrating to Canada. He later attended George Brown College to study Computer Programming but chose to leave with one semester remaining to support his growing family when he and Kasia were expecting their first daughter, Caroline.

Peter was a self-employed electrician who took great pride in his work. He was known for his knowledge, skill, and ability to solve just about any electrical problem. Outside of work, he had a lifelong love of music and could often identify an artist or song after hearing only a few notes. Above all, Peter treasured spending time with his many friends, sharing stories, lively conversations, and spirited debates—always convinced he had something to teach and that he was right.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice and Credit Valley Hospital for the care and support they provided to Peter.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
