Surrounded by the love of her family, Paulette Chartrand passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the Ottawa General Hospital, at the age of 74.

Paulette was the cherished wife of Marcel Chartrand and the loving mother of Michel (Lyndsay Haggerty) and Shawn (Linda Ferro Chartrand). She was the proud and devoted grandmother of four grandchildren, Jaxson, Brielle, Giulia, and Sofia, who brought her immense joy and happiness.

She was the daughter of the late Max-Emilien and Georgette (Lamoureux) Piette. Paulette was predeceased by her sister, Francoise McBride. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Robert (Susan) Piette of Sudbury, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Paulette worked for many years as a medical secretary in Azilda, where she took great pride in being an efficient, dedicated, and organized worker. Her exceptional organizational skills extended far beyond her work and were evident in every aspect of her life.

Paulette had a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. She loved to laugh and had a special way of bringing joy to those around her. Her warmth, quick wit, and ability to find humour in everyday moments created many cherished memories for her family and friends.

A talented seamstress and quilter, Paulette found great joy in creating beautiful quilts for the people she loved. Over the years, she made more than 100 quilts, each one a heartfelt gift and a lasting expression of her love. Her creativity, generosity, and attention to detail will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to receive one of her treasured creations.

In keeping with Paulette’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Intensive Care Unit at the Ottawa General Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Paulette. Your kindness brought her comfort, and the laughter and moments of joy you shared with her during her final days meant so much to her and to her family.
