Patricia "Patsy" Sabourin (nee LeBlanc)

February 27, 1945 — August 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patricia “Patsy” Sabourin (nee LeBlanc) on August 28, 2025. Patsy is survived by her beloved husband Gerald, who was the love of her life, and her much-adored children Darlene (Bruce) and Michael.

Patsy was a treasured sister to Ken (Zita) and a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Hector and Oner LeBlanc (nee Cummings), and her brothers Harold, Alban, Ralph, Leo, Allen, and Ronald.

Born in 1945 in Atholville, New Brunswick, Patsy’s family moved to Marathon, Ontario, and finally settled in Thurso, Quebec in 1958. As a teenager, she met Gerald, and in 1964, Gerald married “the love of his life, Patsy”, their family would soon follow. She graduated from Willis Business College - Secretarial School, though ultimately decided to devote her time to her family.

After moving to Ottawa, in their later years, Patsy loved spending weekends at their country home. She especially enjoyed the trips she and Gerald took together; most memorable were their first trip south to Cuba and the cross-country road trip to visit her brothers and their families in Marathon, Calgary, and Quesnel. Patsy looked forward to seeing family and spent a lot of time with her brother Ken and sister-in-law Zita.

Patsy always made a point to get to the gym to do her aqua fit class and would never say no to an ice cream cone or a soak in the hot tub. Throughout her life, music brought her much joy – her favourites were rock and roll, country, bluegrass, and gospel music. She and Gerald were also quite the jive dancers and took to the dance floor whenever they had occasion to do so.

Patsy was a kind and loving person and will be missed greatly.
