Norman Bruce Smith

SMITH, Norman Bruce, passed away at home on Monday, December 8th, 2025, in his 93rd year in Mississauga. Beloved husband of Sharon Flanagan for over 25 years. Lovingly remembered by Norman’s daughter Nicole (Lorne) of Brampton, son Craig (Helena) of Sweden, daughter Kelly of Vancouver, son Kirby (Shelley) of Smith Falls, granddaughter, Gloria (Albert) of Brazil and grandson, Liam of Sweden. Dear brother of Michael (Lynn) Kelowa. Norman will be fondly missed by nieces, nephews & extended family. Predeceased by his parents Charles & Viola Smith (formerly of Mt. Elgin), and by siblings Madeline Waite, Jean Smith, Helen Mennill, Maxwell Smith. Joyce Gates, Laurene Thompson and Bill Smith.

Norman attended Western University in London, ON and was a Certified General Accountant for all of his professional life. He worked for Holiday Inn for many years and even transferred with them from London to Mississauga in 1982, where he continued to raise his family. In his later years before retiring, Norman worked for Canada Revenue until he was the age of 82. He was active in his local church, Christ First United Church, for many years, serving in different roles, visiting those sick and elderly. He loved golf, travel, sports of all kinds, and never missed cheering on his beloved Detroit Tigers. Norman’s family was very important to him and made it his priority to be at family events on both sides of his family, and was s source of wisdom and help to his siblings who passed on before him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Norman with his family at the ST JOHN'S DIXIE CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5. Visitation will be on Friday, December 19, from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Magnolia Room at 2:00 p.m following visitation.
