CAMERON, Norma Jean (nee Turner)

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Huronia in Penetanguishene on Sunday, June 7, 2026 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Cameron for 61 years. Dear mother of Cheryl, Karen (Mark), and the late Ronald. Proud grandmother of Matthew.

She was predeceased by parents Frank and Jane; brothers Edward, Harry, Rick, Thomas, and Robert; sisters Shirley, Margaret, Mary, Sandra, and Sharon; sister-in-law Nancy; and brothers-in-law Charles, Roy, Berend, and Donald.

She leaves brother Gordon; sisters-in-law Norene, Robyn, Bev, Odette, and Wendy; brother-in-law Gary, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Norma worked many years in the food industry and enjoyed entertaining guests at home. Her talents included sewing, decorating, making crafts, catering on special occasions, and creating stained glass windows and figures with her husband.

She loved Jesus and attended church for most of her life until she was no longer able to. She always enjoyed gospel concerts and listening to Christian CDs and tapes.

Our family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, and PSWs who provided care in her final years at RVH, GBGH, Hospice Huronia, as well as in her home.

A service will be conducted at Jennett Memorial Centre, 152 Bradford Street, Barrie, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A private family interment will take place at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton.

If desired, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to Hospice Huronia or Heritage Baptist Church (79 Ardagh Road, Barrie) in lieu of flowers.
