Nazzareno “Frank” Francesco Maiolo, born on January 2, 1935, in Fabrizia, Italy, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto.
At seventeen, Frank came to Canada in search of a better life, carrying with him determination, resilience, and hope for the future. Through years of hard work and many accomplishments, his proudest achievement was meeting the love of his life, Mary, and building a family.
Frank convinced Mary to move from her home in Niagara Falls to Toronto, where they began a new life together that lasted 68 years—a marriage defined by strength, sacrifice, family, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud Nonno, and loyal friend, whose love for family and friends was always at the centre of his life. Frank found great joy in life's simple pleasures—sharing pasta, homemade wine, laughter, and time spent surrounded by the people he loved most.
Frank is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Mary; his children, Celso, Joseph, Catherine, and Natalie; his six cherished grandchildren, Cavan, Bryden, Ethan, Nathaniel, Noah, and Olivia; and his loving sisters, Raffaella and Rosina.
Frank was predeceased by his son, Pasquale; his parents, Pasquale Maiolo and Maria Caterina Ciccarelli; and his brother, Carmelo.
The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre for the care, compassion, and dignity they provided to Frank and his family.
The family will be holding a private service followed by cremation.
