It is with profound sadness, deep admiration, and endless love that we announce the passing of Nancy Ellen Orchard who left this world peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by care and respect, leaving behind a life defined by resilience, laughter, and relentless courage.

For a long time, mom fought a brave and exhausting battle against illness. Through endless hospital visits, unimaginable pain, and moments of fear that would have broken lesser spirits, she never backed down. She stared death in the eye every single day and with extraordinary grit and a sharp, unyielding sense of humor, she won every single day. Until yesterday, when her body finally earned the quiet rest she so deeply deserved.

While we don’t know what happens when we leave this world, our greatest comfort lies in the hope that she has achieved her ultimate wish: to be reunited with the love of her life, Tim Orchard, wherever his spirit rests now. Free from pain and sickness, they are together again.

Nancy is survived by Laurie Atherton, Rod Orchard, Momoko Orchard, Natsuko Orchard, Sara Atherton and daughter in law Ikuko Nakafuji. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tim Orchard.
