Obituary

Nancy Elaine Guthrie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Elaine Guthrie, who passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at Royal Victoria Hospital. Born on August 30, 1959, in Scarborough, Ontario, Nancy passed away in her 67th year.

Nancy was known for her warm heart, kind spirit, and unmistakable dry sense of humor. She had a quick wit that could make people laugh when they least expected it, and she had a way of brightening any room with both her smile and her perfectly timed remarks. She found joy in gardening, baking, cooking, and spending time with her many friends and family. Her welcoming nature and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Nancy and her late husband, Bill, proudly owned and operated Hillocks Nostalgia Shoppe, where they shared their passion for antiques and collectibles with the community. Over the years, Nancy also worked at Davidson’s Country Dining and The Cove Café, where she formed many lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike.

For more than 40 years, Nancy called Big Bay Point home. She loved the community and the people in it, and she will be deeply missed by her friends and neighbours.

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her son, Cory (Randy). She is also survived by her siblings, Karen McCuaig (Dave) and Kevin Guthrie (Mandy). She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent Guthrie and Joyce Guthrie (Hobbs), her sister, Sandra Martin (Keith), and her brother, Paul Guthrie.

Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, resilience, infectious laughter, and dry wit will never be forgotten. She leaves behind countless cherished memories and a legacy of love, friendship, and quiet strength.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Nancy’s memory.
