It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Myrtus (Piercey) Baker in her 81st year on October 13, 2023.
 
Myrtus was married 62 years to the love of her life Velmore Baker. She resided with her daughter Denise and husband Mike Bobetić  along with their children Michael and Douglas in Mississauga for the past six years.
 
She was predeceased by, her parents Hayward and Janet (Green) Piercey, her in-laws Isaiah and Blanche Baker, her two infant children Velmore and Douglas and brothers Harold, George and Gerald Piercey. 
She leaves behind two daughters Denise (Mike) and Donna, one granddaughter Tammy Wilson (Kortnee), five grandsons Andrew Tamblyn, Justin Chaytor , Michael Baker Bobetić , Douglas Baker Bobetić  and James Colbourne and two great granddaughters, Maycee Wilson and Ainsley Tamblyn.
She will be deeply missed by her sisters Maude Williams (Albert), Louise Nash (Edward) and two brothers Eric Piercey (Mariella) and Kevin Piercey (Christine). Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will also miss her dearly.
 
She enjoyed life to the fullest. She had a heart of gold helping many people over her years. Many nights of cards were often played and enjoyed in her trailer at the Red Setter resort in Havelock, Ontario. She loved a great game of bingo and enjoyed membership at Meadowvale community center. She was retired from Pharmasave where she worked as cashier for close to 25 years. She made many friends over the years whom she cherished like family. 
 
We would like to thank the staff at both Mississauga Queensway and Credit Valley Hospitals for their help in care over the past two years. Also thank you to the many Personal support workers from LHIN network along with Joanne and her nurse Lloyd.
 
She has requested no service after cremation. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation.
