Mike McKitterick

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Michael G (Mike) McKitterick on November 11, 2022, tragically after a car accident. Together again with his beloved wife of 64 years, the late Sylvia McKitterick.

He was the much-loved father of Chris (Jean Johnston) and Samantha Hunt (Rod). Incredible Grandad to Isabelle Hermans (Karel), Phillip McKitterick (Shelby), Connor Hunt (Anna) and Bradley Hunt. He loved spending time with them all but especially the sleepovers when he got to make waffles for his "littlins." He was a loving Great Grandad to Avaline Hermans and most recently spent her first Halloween fussing about her firefighter costume.

Dearest brother to Gill Bromfield (Roy) and the late Doug and brother-in-law David as well as many nieces and nephews scattered across England and Western Canada. He will be especially missed by his "other son" Paul Garforth as well as his exceptional neighbours Gavin and Debbie Cunningham.

Mike and Sylvia immigrated to Canada from England in 1967, moved from Belleville to Smiths Falls in 1968 and never regretted their decision. They were very involved in the Smiths Falls Tennis Club and "Skipper" had many cherished memories as a Cub and Scout Leader in the area as well.

We want to sincerely thank the amazing staff at The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus 2nd floor Trauma unit for the wonderful, kind, caring approach with our father. We are grateful.
