Michael Sim

It is with great sadness to share that Michael Garry Sim, born March 1, 1948, passed peacefully with his life partner Marni Joanne Binder of 36 years at his side, in St. Michael’s Hospital Emergency Care Unit on July 31, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Mildred (Millie mom) Sim, his brother Dennis and his sister Barbara.

As a free spirit, Michael’s zest for life knew no bounds. His heart belonged in Mexico where he spent much joyful time with his partner, Marni. A retired carpenter and renovator, he spent his days with a good book, walks in Grange Park in downtown Toronto and visits to art galleries. He loved to cook and garden. Michael had the gift for making others smile.

As per Michael’s wishes, there will be no service or celebration of life. His memory will be held dear by those who knew him. He will be missed!
