Mike was writing a story, a story forever written in our hearts.
Mike went into the hospital on Thursday, July 31st, 2025 with Cardiac Arrest. He later passed away with his Family by his side on Monday, August 4th, 2025.
Mike is leaving behind his two children. Robbyn Rooney and Zachery Rooney both by Josephine(Joann) Curl. Mike has two beautiful grandchildren by his daughter, Autumn McColeman (Jake McColeman) and Damian McFadden (Alexander McFadden).
He is the 4th born out of 5 children by his surviving mother Doris Rooney(Jemmett) and his pre-deceased Father, Ronald Rooney.
Mike will be greatly missed by his siblings; Ron Rooney, Kathy Rooney (Pete Lowe), Ken Rooney (Laurie Miller) and his younger brother Brian Rooney.
Leaving behind nephews Andrew Callan, Brandon Lowe and niece Amie Rooney. Children of Kathy Rooney (Pete Lowe).
He will be missed by his two best friends, Joe Pittman, and Dave Chopps.
Mike was a kind hearted, give the shirt off his back kind of man. He was always making people laugh. Mike would always say laughter is the best medicine.
Mike enjoyed playing golf with his son, brothers, family and friends. He would never miss a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey game! He was always watching hockey with his son, his daughter, brothers, family and friends. Mike used to play a lot of ball hockey and took great pleasure in watching his son play. He also took lots of pleasure in watching his son, Zach, play football and wrestle. They even shared a love of watching WWE! Mike Rooney spent a lot of time playing darts with his daughter, Robbyn. He taught her everything she knows! Mike loved listening to Rock 95 after work and on weekends. One of his favourite movies was The Green Mile. You could also catch Mike watching NASCAR every Sunday.
Mike had a strong love for his dog Circa.
Mike spent a lot of time at the Army Navy Air Force. He played a role as duty officer for events. It was one of his favourite places. He also loved Pogeys and Denley's sports bars when they were around. He enjoyed nature and long walks.
Mike gave over two decades of service to Moore Packaging in Barrie, Ontario.
Michael Steven Rooney will be greatly missed by many and all.
