Maurice "Mo" Sword

Maurice (Mo) Sword May 17, 1942 – December 8, 2024 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice (Mo) Sword on December 8, 2024, at the age of 82.

Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Viola of Unity, Saskatchewan, Mo is survived by his beloved wife, Gwen; his daughter, Connie; and his stepsons, Matthew (Sherry) and Len (Karen). He was a proud grandfather (“Papa”) to Kate (Adrian), Sara, Jamie, and Ella, and great-grandfather (“Papa”) to Dominik. 

Mo dedicated over 40 years of his career to CN Rail. Outside work, he found joy in gardening, woodworking and music. His generosity and sense of humour left a lasting impression on those who knew him. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mo’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society. 

At Mo’s request, his ashes will be scattered by his family at a later date.
