Maurice was born on April 10, 1953, in the small town of Dalvey, in the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica. He was the last of thirteen children, the baby of the family. Although he came from humble beginnings, Maurice lived life large. His personality was huge! His love was boundless. His sense of humor was unmatched. And his belly laugh was contagious.
Maurice’s friends will attest to the fact that he was a wise and loyal friend, always ready to share advice and encouragement. Although he faced obstacles in his own life, he was such a source of inspiration to so many people. He touched us all with his kindness and wisdom, leaving behind a profound impact on his family, friends and co-workers. A man of simple means, he never hesitated to share whatever he had. His unconditional love and unwavering support brought comfort to those around him, and his infectious smile could brighten anyone's day. Whether he was telling captivating stories or offering wise advice, he had a way of making everyone feel valued and heard.
Maurice leaves behind six children, six grandchildren, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that we will carry in our hearts. Although he is no longer with us in the physical sense, the impact he made on our lives will forever remain. May he rest in eternal peace in the arms of his Saviour.
