MaryLouise Rasiulis

January 6, 1960 — October 25, 2023

MaryLouise Rasiulis, 63, of Barrie, Ontario, passed away on October 25th, 2023 at the Royal Victoria Hospital after her hard-fought battle with cancer.

Mary was born on January 6, 1960 to Robert and Jean D’Aloisio in Sudbury, ON. The eldest of six children, she always looked after her family. She was a very special daughter; loyal, protective, faithful and incredibly loving.

She attended the University of Ottawa. After graduating with a degree in Nursing, she started her first job at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa as a Registered Nurse. Her hard-working and caring personality, paired with her intelligence and affinity for helping people made her an exceptional nurse. She worked for thirty-eight years, many of which were spent at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Near the end of her career, she spent many meaningful years working with urologist Dr. Joseph Zadra. She is remembered by many appreciative patients for her kindness and empathetic care.

In 1979, during their first year of university in Ottawa, Mary met her best friend and husband Paul Rasiulis. They were married on June 30th, 1990 and spent thirty-three wonderful years together. Mary and Paul were blessed with two beautiful and loving daughters, Theresa and Paula.

Mary was the most loving wife and selfless mother. Her strong faith in God gave her family stability and a solid foundation. She had such a pure heart and loved so deeply. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, vibrant personality and the sparkling light in her eyes.

Her family cherishes the years they had together and are forever grateful for all that she did for them

Mary was predeceased by her father, Robert D’Aloisio. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Paul Rasiulis; daughters Theresa Rasiulis and Paula Rasiulis; brother David D’Aloisio; foster sister Molly Prociuk; mother Jean D’Aloisio; and numerous other family members.

She will be greatly missed by her extended family, especially mother in-law, Valerie Rasiulis; and brothers in law, Andrew and Edward Rasiulis

She also leaves behind her beloved little Yorkie, Annie, who misses her deeply.
